Casting Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Reboot

10. Jake Sisko - Caleb McLaughlin

Stranger Things Lucas
Netflix

Jake Sisko, as played by Cirroc Lofton, was often the core of Ben Sisko's emotional journey - at least in the early years of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine for sure. Both Avery Brooks and Cirroc Lofton have credited the relationship that developed between them as one of their fondest, warmest take-aways from the entire series.

Caleb McLoughlin rose to prominence with his role of Lucas in Netflix's Stranger Things. Along with the rest of the young cast in that show, McLoughlin displayed incredible acting talent from an early age - standing out among his fellow stars as the supremely likable Lucas. His role grew with succeeding seasons.

He has Broadway experience as well (playing Young Simba in The Lion King) so he has already shown a fair amount of versatility. While he is nearly 20 (he was born October 13, 2001), in this age of Riverdale - where all school children look like they have mortgages and three kids - this is hardly a barrier!
