Casting Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Reboot

8. Worf - Idris Elba

The Mountain Between Us Idris Elba
Fox

In this reboot, we can change actors. Djimon Hounsou was our choice for The Next Generation reboot, yet for this entry we're going with something a little different.

Yes, we know he has already been in Star Trek! But it doesn't matter, that's half the fun. Several actors have returned to play different roles, and it's been a hoot! Idris Elba is simply one of the coolest people alive on the planet - who wouldn't like to see him in full Klingon make-up?

He has the gravitas, he has the suave. He looks like a man with whom messing should be bloody low on anyone's list.

He's also shown that he can do comedy when the need comes in. Worf was, for a time on Star Trek: The Next Generation, arguably too stuffy and inflexible. Many compilation videos of him being shut down by Picard circulate online - Elba looks like a man who wouldn't find himself in these situations!

It may never happen, but wouldn't it be fun all the same?
