Community: 10 Best Ben Chang Episodes

This fifth season episode features a bittersweet, bottled story between Abed and Hicks, as well as highlighting a sentimental bond between Jeff Winger and Professor Duncan. Harmon manages to add emotional backdrops to two of the side characters in the wake of Pierce and Troy’s departure. It’s only fitting that the C-plot for this episode exercise Community’s right to be ridiculous, utilizing Chang in a brilliant way.

While the study group members are off making important discoveries about themselves, Chang finds himself in a self-contained ghost story. Accidentally wandering into an abandoned theatre room, he gives a monologue to an impressed audience.

This audience are supposedly ghosts. The janitor is supposedly a ghost. He turns out to supposedly be a ghost. It’s absolutely insane and forever unexplained yet watching Chang lose his mind in Community’s version of The Sixth Sense will always be entertaining.

But what’s so funny? The episode ends on a hilarious tribute to that iconic photo from The Shining, except it presents Ben Chang with Greendale’s “Old Timey Photo Club”.
