Community: 10 Reasons Why Season 5 Is MASSIVELY Underrated

3. It Could Have Also Been The Final Season

I'm not ripping on the sixth season! It had it's fun episodes, and the ending of season six might be one of the best endings in television history. And while #sixseasonsandamovie is something Community fans are still pushing for, the fifth season saw the last appearance of some of its best characters, and the arrival of a few newcomers.

The Save Greendale plot was a natural progression in the wider Community arc and that story concluded when the Committee stopped Subway from purchasing the school. Had the entire show stopped there, not only would we have gotten everything we deserved from Community but the show would have ended on a very high note.

With profound moments in "Cooperative Polygraphy" and character enlightenment in "Bondage and Beta Male Sexuality", it felt like the show was concluding series-long arcs and providing closure for fans who had watched the series since the beginning.

Of course, Abed and Annie's conversation at the end of the finale delightfully did what the show always did, which was hope and pray for a sixth season. But it would have been all the more meta had the show finished there and then.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
