That€™s right. Our protagonist is literally the spawn of Satan. His story began in the hit 1976 Richard Donner movie The Omen, which was followed by two cinematic sequels, one direct-to-video follow-up, and a remake in 2006.

His coming was foretold in the Book of Revelations and his birth in human form was the result of a union between Satan and a jackal - you can only imagine what that must have looked like. According to the Biblical text, the Antichrist is destined to rise to power and initiate the fall of man, or at least that's the CliffsNotes version.

Damien, who bears the number of the Beast, 666, in the form of a birthmark beneath his hair, is adopted by American diplomat Robert Thorn and his wife Katherine, played by Gregory Peck and Lee Remick, who are unaware of his unnatural beginnings and true nature. It isn€™t long before darkness engulfs the couple's life.

Screenwriter David Seltzer also novelised the film and the book spawned sequels of its own. Damien: Omen II and Omen III: The Final Conflict are adaptations of their movie counterparts, while the fourth and fifth novels went off on a tangent and focused on Damien€™s son.
