Of all the great characters featured in Daredevil season 1, one of the best was undoubtedly Stick, the blind former mentor to Matt Murdock. Of course, it helped that Stick was played by Scott Glenn, an old pro of such rugged masculinity he looks as though his face was carved from stone. Glenn's appearance was one of the highlights of the first season, with Glenn rivalling Vincent D'Onofrio for sheer screen presence despite him appearing in just the one episode. And therein lies the problem with Glenn's Stick so far: there just wasn't enough of him in season 1, his introduction in episode 7 seeming to herald in a crucial new character that was only to be ditched for the remaining episodes. As such an influence on Murdock and such a key part of his history, expect more Stick in season two - hopefully much more, and not just of him acting as mentor. An exploration of Stick's own backstory, in particular how he came to be associated with the mysterious clan glimpsed in episode 7, wouldn't go amiss, especially as picking apart a character's backstory is something Daredevil does so well.
