Another uneven element of the show in season 1: those rough-and-ready fight scenes. There have been some outstanding set-pieces in the show so far, in particular the Oldboy-aping hallway fight that saw Daredevil rescue a child from the clutches of the Russians, the camera moving slowly in one take as Daredevil singlehandedly takes down a group of thugs (while taking a heavy beating himself). There are others, however, that didn't stand up quite as well. The Daredevil/Nobu fight in particular appeared stagey and a tad low-rent, while the final fight between Daredevil and Wilson Fisk - coming after the solid sequence in which Fisk escaped police custody - felt a bit flat and undynamic. What Daredevil needs now is to look at the action sequences it got right in season 1, hire a better fight choreographer and go at the season 2 battles harder than ever. The fighting sequences that worked best in season 1 were the ones that were intimate and where the stakes seemed high, so season 2 has a formula to follow there already.
