6. How Jon Bernthal Prepared For The Punisher
There's a lot of pressure on Jon Bernthal going into season two of Daredevil, especially as the fan-favourite vigilante has been so poorly handled on the big screen on three separate occasions. If anyone can do Frank Castle justice though, it's the talented character actor who had a massive impact in The Walking Dead and in movies like Fury and The Wolf of Wall Street. That just so happens to be something he's well aware of! "People have been coming up to me on the streets of New York saying, Do not mess this up,'" Bernthal admitted when asked if the high expectations fans have. However, rather than worrying too much about that type of thing, it seems like the actor has instead been focusing on getting into the head of The Punisher, walking to the set of the show alone each day in order to get into his "isolated and joyless" headspace. "This character has resonated with law enforcement and military," Bernthal continued when asked to shed some light on how he's approaching this version of Frank Castle. "Hes brought the war home with him in the worst possible way. And the best thing about him is that if he offends you, he just doesnt care." Yeah, it definitely sounds like Daredevil will deliver the most comic accurate version of the character to date then!
