Daredevil TV Show: 10 Things It Can Finally Get Right
4. It Will Have A Darker Tone Than Other MCU Projects
The series will be influenced by Frank Millers transformative run on the comics, meaning that it will probably be one of Marvels darkest projects so far. Showrunner Steven S. Deknight has said that Matt Murdock is one bad day away from becoming the Punisher. This would suggest that Charlie Cox will not be playing a character with an overwhelming level of restraint, and we could see an angry vigilante more than we see a noble hero at least for the first series. The movie had a dark tone, but this series looks set to follow some of Miller's seminal stories, adhering to the comics in a way that the movie could not do. It was discussed earlier about how the tone will be entirely different from the movie, and although Marvel films tend to have a lighter tone than their DC counterparts, this does not mean that they cannot make gritty films. The Winter Soldier was considerably more grounded and darker than Iron Man 2 or Guardians of the Galaxy, and it was one of the best films of the year. Daredevil looks like it will be more influenced by this sort of dynamic, grounding itself in a peculiar reality, and probably dispensing with some of the odd parts of the character it isnt looking likely that we will be seeing Daredevil swinging from rooftops anytime soon.
