4. It Will Have A Darker Tone Than Other MCU Projects

The series will be influenced by Frank Miller€™s transformative run on the comics, meaning that it will probably be one of Marvel€™s darkest projects so far. Showrunner Steven S. Deknight has said that Matt Murdock is one bad day away from becoming the Punisher. This would suggest that Charlie Cox will not be playing a character with an overwhelming level of restraint, and we could see an angry vigilante more than we see a noble hero €“ at least for the first series. The movie had a dark tone, but this series looks set to follow some of Miller's seminal stories, adhering to the comics in a way that the movie could not do.
