For those of us who keep up to date on any and all news and gossip in between seasons of The CW’s shows, we knew to expect some take on DC’s infamous Legion of Doom during the second season of Legends of Tomorrow. And here, we saw the seeds planted for the villainous stable.

The Legion of Doom is a team of rogues first introduced in the old Challenge of the Super Friends cartoon, with the group having appeared in plenty of animated series and comics since then. Made up of the likes of Lex Luthor, Sinestro, Black Manta, Gorilla Grodd, Riddler, Braniac and Captain Cold, this group of supervillains did their best to take down some of DC’s finest heroes.

Villains working together is something that’s been kept to a minimum in The CW’s DC world so far, with The Flash having battled Captain Cold and Heat Wave, and Green Arrow having been pitted against Deathstroke, Ravager and Brother Blood being the most standout collaborations. In Legends’ Season 2, though, we’re going to have a season-long arc that sees Damien Darhk, Reverse-Flash, Malcolm Merlyn and (last seen being a good guy) Captain Cold coming together to cause chaos.

Having the seeds for this team planted in the season premiere was a clever touch as the episode’s final moments revealed that Damien Darhk has been in cahoots with Eobard Thawne, aka Reverse-Flash.
