What DC’s Legends of Tomorrow did exceptionally well with Out of Time was that it did a great job placing some of the key chess pieces ahead of what lies ahead for the team during this season.

From the moment the season premiere began, we were introduced to newcomer Dr. Nate Heywood. Following that, we found out what happened to the Legends team following the Season 1 finale, where they are now, and that Rip Hunter is AWOL. Added to that, Damien Darhk and Reverse-Flash were brought in as the villains of the season, with two more rogues to follow. And then to top it off, the Justice Society of America was dropped in for good measure.

Nate Heywood, Damien Darhk, Reverse-Flash, and the JSA are all going to have key roles to play this season, and Out of Time handled these characters in the perfect manner. Already, we now have an indicator of what lies ahead for Season 2 and what the main plot points and characters will be. Even better, the JSA sting and the Reverse-Flash reveal will have viewers eagerly waiting for next week’s outing so that we can see where this all goes.
