DC's Titans Trailer Reaction: 2 Ups And 3 Downs
1. Questionable CGI
Titans is one of the most anticipated shows of the year. Moreover, it's exclusive to DC's own streaming service, so you would think that Warner Bros. would give them a slightly bigger budget to work with than a random TV network would. And while there are plenty of aesthetically pleasing backdrops and visually stunning sequences, there are occasions where the less-than-stellar CGI lets it down.
The trailer relies heavily on violence, but it doesn't take too many graphic deaths for us to realise that the blood-spatters look like they were generated in post-production by a computer. And it makes the series feel like the best ever fan-film, as opposed to the big-budget universe-starter it's being billed as.
Now, it's not unheard of for studios to use unfinished versions of their product in the promotional material, so there's a strong possibility that the final version will feature a higher standard of CGI. Let's hope that this is true because, while it's not exactly bad, it's noticeable enough to draw your attention from the seemingly compelling narrative.
