Disenchantment: 7 Things Season 2 Must Do
3. Bring Elfo Back
He’s dead, but in this show resurrection can easily be written in. The happy little elf was a key part of what worked in Season 1. Season 2 needs him.
The show did kind of offer Elfo a second chance with Bean’s potion, but thankfully didn’t stretch this dilemma. Obviously Bean chose the mother she’s always yearned for over a guy she’s known for about a month. While that never felt like the end, the show all but confirmed his return in a post credit sequence. His corpse washes up on the beach and is collected by some mysterious figures...
It’s still unknown how he’ll be reintroduced. While the story must come first, it took the whole of the first episode for him to meet Bean last time. A quicker pace to Season 2 might help them iron out the creases in their dynamic.
Hopefully, one thing the show will cut is the will-they-won’t-they angle. It’s all circling back to Futurama but Fry and Leela were so endearing because it was never forced. In a world full of magic and wonder, their romantic subplot was the hardest thing to believe.
