7. There Was A Reference To Matt's Shaved Head

There were a few articles that speculated whether Matt Smith would even appear in the Christmas episode this year, given that he'd shaved his head. How would it grow back in time? If only we all knew about Karen Gillan (spoilers). The new-look Matt is something that's been addressed in the fandom, joked about, and even mentioned during the Doctor's Proms cameo, when he claimed he swapped his hair for a ticket to the show. So it was nice to see it referenced when the Doctor appeared, bald, claiming that he took a razor to his quiff when he was bored. Again, it's the little nods to the fans that make episodes special. And winking through the screen is a sweet way to do that. We know the Doctor really did shave his head. Whether it was because he was bored or not, we'll never know.
