Doctor Who: 10 Beautiful Things About 'The Time Of The Doctor'
6. The Drawings In The TARDIS
The Doctor was always a lonely god under Russell T Davies, but when Steven Moffat stepped up to helm the show, he became a hero in a fairytale. The signs are there throughout Moffat's tenure: the Eleventh Doctor becomes a story overnight in Leadworth, before saving his own life by telling Amy the story of a madman who stole a magic box and ran away. Smith's TARDIS interior was "whimsical" according to Moffat, but underwent a more mechanical makeover during Eleven's alone time. Again, it was Clara reading a story about a magical man in a box that brought the Doctor to life again. So naturally, as the Doctor's clock hands meet at Twelve, the mechanical TARDIS became decorated with drawings, just to take the Doctor back to the start. The TARDIS was once again playful and colourful, just like the Eleventh Doctor himself, and just like the legend of the Raggedy Doctor.
