7. Kovarian Massively Influenced River

On the theme of regeneration, what if Mels's last moments massively influenced the River incarnation played by Alex Kingston? River was brainwashed apparently, but how, we're not entirely sure. What if there was a trigger, should she regenerate, that she recalls all of her psychopath engineering and remembers Kovarian? It would explain the more Kovarian-like appearance, the sudden desire to kill the Doctor, and the effects wearing off as the regeneration cycle went on. Perhaps the Doctor placing the idea in her head of marrying him is what messed with quite simple instructions, but maybe that's just a bit too much sentimental, eh? Just as every Master has been equal to the Doctor in terms of presence, it's interesting to imagine River regenerating to become equal to Kovarian. And a LSD-esque regeneration scene - similar to the Fifth changing into the Sixth Doctor - with Kovarian telling River to remember her training would have been fascinating wouldn't it?
