Doctor Who: 10 Great Actors Who Need To Play Villains

9. Tom Hiddleston (On Screen)

Let€™s just get the obvious actors out of the way, shall we? Tom Hiddleston is on everyone€™s list to be a villain, be the Doctor, be a companion €“ basically we all want Tom Hiddleston on our television sets for any amount of time we can. This is a good thing to look for in a villain. It shouldn€™t be required that the person is famous, but it certainly helps things along and does a lot to boost ratings. We all know from Tom Hiddleston playing Loki that being villainous is absolutely no challenge. However, it€™s possible that may play against all Whovians who want to see him on the show. Though he has done almost everything to prove to people that he€™s not only a villain, the Marvel franchise juggernaut has made sure that's what he's most famous for. Tom Hiddleston would be a fantastic villain because he brings an air of classical theatre with him wherever he goes. That€™s encouraged by the fact that he€™s currently in Coriolanus, a Shakespearean tragedy, playing the title role. Most likely though, Tom Hiddleston would be on screen, which would require him to tone down the theatricality and focus on the dry wit that we see in Thor and Thor 2. I would love to see Hiddleston play either a reincarnation of the Master €“ yes, he€™s dead, but when has that ever mattered? €“ or a leader of a planet. Basically, he needs a role where he€™s representing the masses. That€™s here he shines, even as a villain, and that€™s where he should be.

I'm currently attending my local college while trying to figure out who I am. I love Doctor Who, Sherlock, really any BBC show. I've also been told I'm a bit of a nerd. Specifically, a theatre nerd.
