Doctor Who: 10 Great Actors Who Need To Play Villains
3. Ben Whishaw (On Screen)
Many people will know Ben Whishaw by his role in the newest James Bond movie as the person in charge of gadgets for 007. With a role where he plays a government-hired tech geek, one would be surprised about why I chose him. However, the confusion and how oddly it seems to fit is exactly why hes in my top three choices. One of the best storylines that people use is the storyline of someone whos been done wrong, and comes back years later more powerful and tries to take the person who did them wrong down. Thats basically the scenario in which I best see Whishaw playing a villain. The best part about this scenario is that he could possibly not be an alien at all; he could be human. As an alien, he could have been someone who was one of the few that wasnt saved in one of the Doctors many big saves thus birthing the sort of resentment that gives rise to grandstanding villainy. This is a good storyline, but also a bit overdone and obvious. As a human, it could be entirely different. Weve seen the effect the Doctor has on people when he comes into their lives for only a few moments, we saw it the most in A Good Man Goes to War, as well as Amy in general. The Doctor leaves a huge print on a persons life, and some people will do anything to get them back. Not everyone is going to stay on the good side like Amy and Lorna, who knew enough about the Doctor to know what he would want. Imagine if the Doctor had a hand in creating a villain. Could he live with himself?
I'm currently attending my local college while trying to figure out who I am. I love Doctor Who, Sherlock, really any BBC show. I've also been told I'm a bit of a nerd. Specifically, a theatre nerd.
