8. The Impossible Girl

Clara Oswald was born to save the Doctor, we know that much. But when she jumped into the Doctor's timeline, what actually happened? Why did we only meet her twice, if she was supposed to be saving him at every corner? How did she actually kill the Great Intelligence? How did she survive? A simple explanation might be that the Doctor only started hearing her when he needed her most, and he needed her as a friend most during the Ponds' departure. Maybe she survived thanks to River's connection with her, and maybe she never actually killed the Great Intelligence, she just created a paradox/resolved a paradox/timey-wimey thing that we don't understand. 'The Time of the Doctor' might not explain that, but maybe an episode next series might. More than likely though, Steven Moffat is leaving it to our imaginations. Which is a shame; there could be a whole story in there. It stretches over the course of the Doctor's timeline, after all...
