Doctor Who: 10 Irritating Nu-Who Trends That Need To Die

1. The Of The Doctor Once upon a time, back in the day, Doctor Who was a program that showed adventures that involved the Doctor. In 2013 it was a program that showed adventures about the Doctor, which is an important distinction. Compare the Doctor's two engagements in The Aztecs and The Wedding of River Song to see exactly what that distinction is. In the first, The Doctor's engagement is one incident among many in a story about people from another time interacting with a culture they don't fully understand. In the second it's 45 minutes about The Doctor's love life. There's nothing intrinsically wrong with stories that are about The Doctor in and of themselves. However the sheer number of stories in the last year that were titled, ' of the Doctor' goes some way toward showing how far the needle has swung in that direction. It's time to swing back toward stories that The Doctor is a part of, rather than the reason for. Agree? Disagree? Feel free to point out the ones we've missed in the comments section below.
