Doctor Who: 10 Monsters That Should Come Back In Series 9

6. The Sea Devils

We€™ve already had an adventure based around the Silurians, so why not their cousins the Sea Devils as well. Rather similar to their land-based cousins, the Sea Devils are distinct in that they were amphibious Earth reptiles. They lived in prehistoric times in a scientifically advanced civilisation, but moved into suspended animation in order to survive. In their original story, their aquatic colonies awoke from that suspended animation and tried to reclaim the planet, which naturally lead to a conflict with humankind. Given that we€™ve already seen that particular story are done with the Silurians, it means it can€™t be used again with this particular villain again. However, the Sea Devils are still primed to re-appear, perhaps with a forgotten colony waking from their slumber. That could lead to them aiming for revenge, thus causing war with human kind once again. Such a story could also utilise Madam Vastra, who is obviously very popular with Steven Moffat, perhaps seeing her playing a role in which she tries to convince her cousin race not to go to war with human kind.
