Doctor Who: 10 Questions We Have About 'The Day Of The Doctor'

1. Who Is John Hurt's Doctor?

Okay, so we all think we know that John Hurt's portrayal of the Doctor will be 8.5. He fought the Time War. He did what he did in the name of peace and sanity. But what if he's from the future? It's a nice nod to the Valeyard, and to complete the lolloping ellipsis that ended the last page, a future Doctor could be the ticket for more regenerations. But more important than any of this insane, coffee-fuelled speculation, how will John Hurt play off the two younger Doctors? Will he be as grumpy and imposing as we guess, or will he in fact have his fair share of the comedy? Will he be the hero of the piece or the villain? What impact will this Doctor have on the show? He's one of the most well-loved actors that this country's produced, and he's the focal point of this episode, as promo pictures would like us to believe. This is an opportunity to see the Doctor played in a way that will never be played again, and this is a character that will influence future actors who take on the role. And for such a great actor, to play our character, is an honour, right? We love all Twelve Doctors, but to welcome another great name to the character's biography, that's an inspired move. And maybe one day, the John Hurt Doctor will be someone's Doctor. But to conclude, he did what he did in the name of peace and sanity. River asked what in the "name of sanity" Eleven had on his head. What if whatever John Hurt did, he did in the name of the fez? Now that's an episode I'd watch. What are you looking forward to most about 'The Day of the Doctor'? Which questions would you like answered? And what would you love to see? Comment below! And please be nice, I've had a long, tiring day at work.
