Doctor Who: 10 Reasons Why We Need A War Doctor Spin-Off

9. The Doctor's Inner Turmoil

Paul McGann's Doctor was ready to go against his own morals to try and put an end to the Time War, and the incarnations that came after the War Doctor couldn't help but regret that decision. The War Doctor himself was the man that had to make the best of the worst possible situation - he had to kill in order to protect in the vain hope that peace would come out of the destruction. Although the War Doctor knew that he had to fight in the Time War, he still held on to his strong beliefs in peace, justice and honour, which would have made fighting on the front lines that much harder. A spin-off series showing the battles fought by the War Doctor would show more than simple, merciless violence, it would also reveal the struggle of the War Doctor learning to deal with the consequences of his actions. When we finally met the War Doctor in The Day of The Doctor he was already at wits end about the part he played in the slaughter and destruction, so there would be great scope for the War Doctor to have some dramatic and emotional scenes in this kind of spin-off. What exactly made him get into that exhausted, fed-up state of mind?
