Doctor Who: 10 Timey-Wimey Episodes (Not Written By Steven Moffat)

9. Father's Day - Paul Cornell

Coming from Rusell T Davies' drama-driven version of the show, Paul Cornell's Father's Day is an emotional take on a timey-wimey premise. Going back in time to see her dad before he died, Rose goes against the Doctor's rules and saves her pa from the path of an oncoming car - thereby changing the future. Due to the damage in time, winged creatures, the Reapers, break into our dimension to 'sterilize the wound', in other words, consume the planet. It seems like there's only one way to fix this mess... While undoubtedly a fantastic episode, Father's Day itself might seem to be relatively light in its playing with time travel. However, with its discussion about the danger of changing events - and moments such as the image above - it is still a sterling mix of timey-wimey concepts and real-life human drama.
