Doctor Who: 10 Timey-Wimey Episodes (Not Written By Steven Moffat)
8. The Space Museum - Glyn Jones
In true timey-wimey fashion, The Space Museum was the serial immediately preceding the Chase even though they're on this list the other way around. Mind-blowing, eh? No, well, fine. In this now-neglected adventure, the TARDIS jumps a time track and the Doctor and friends arrive on the planet Xeros after they've already been there - first, they find the Doctor's ship as a museum piece and then themselves frozen in a display case! The Doctor then realises they must travel back in time to prevent this horrible future. Although such a premise would be small-fry now, this sort of time travel was radical for the show at the time. Considering the amount of Doctor Who episodes nowadays that work on a similar 'we've seen the future so let's change the past' principle - The Big Bang, A Christmas Carol, even The Day of the Doctor - it could be said that this rarely-remembered story is the forebear of all of them. In fact, you could say it deserves to be a museum piece itself.
