Doctor Who: 11 Awesome Timelord Rock Songs

2. The Big Bang 2

The_pandorica_opens-van_gogh Again, this is another Chameleon Circuit song from their second album "Still Got Legs", but is sung primarily by Charlie McDonnell (known commonly as "charlieissocoollike" on YouTube). It is based on the events of the series 5 season finale, "The Big Bang", and perfectly captures just how INCREDIBLY confused everyone was after viewing it. Paradoxes seemed to jump out of no-where, the Doctor died a few times, River was stuck in a time loop in the self-destructing TARDIS, the Doctor sported a fez (albeit for a few moments before River decimated it) and to top it all off, the episode concluded with a wedding. What? "The Big Bang 2" summaries the confusion in three minutes, and is suitably witty and fast-paced. The way the words just tumble out of Charlie's mouth at rapid-fire speed seems to defy human physiology itself. What makes this song all the better is that it uses the same chords from the "I Am the Doctor" theme heard in the finale episode itself, creating a nice link to the show, which is what seems to make the most popular Trock songs stand out. The song, the episode, and Doctor Who itself is perfectly summarised by the refrain, "Oh my God, what will they do? These paradoxes are hard to construe! My mind is blown, I bet yours is too - well I guess this is Doctor Who!" Still Got Legs (Chameleon Circuit's 2nd Album) - Bandcamp: http://chameleoncircuit.bandcamp.com/album/still-got-legs

When she's not watching Doctor Who, writing songs about Doctor Who, or enthusiastically discussing Doctor Who with fellow fans, Chelsea can be found watching musical theatre, reading, writing, or dressing up in costume. She likes tragedies, Tim Burton and tea; she believes that her spirit animal is an owl; and her life motto is "don't forget to be awesome".
