1. Doctorin' the TARDIS
No Trock playlist is ever complete without the inclusion of this track. "Doctorin' the TARDIS" by "The Timelords" is generally accepted as the most popular Trock song in commercial music, peaking at number one in the UK charts after its release in 1988. It samples various other mainstream tracks of the era - including glam rocker Gary Glitter's "Rock and Roll (Part Two)" - and mashes them up with sounds from the Daleks, the TARDIS, and the theme tune. The video clip is delightfully tacky, with a TARDIS-blue painted car (dubbed the "Ford Timelord") being chased by a cardboard Dalek. "Doctorin' the TARDIS" was originally deemed "noxious" and "trashy" by critics, and even the producers of the track themselves admitted that it was "probably the most nauseating record in the world". It may well be on the trashier side of pop, but that's what makes it so great. It certainly did well in the charts and has remained a favourite for Doctor Who fans for decades - so much so that it's even been remixed and mashed up with the likes of modern music, such as Green Day's track "Holiday". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Adk1ujjmguo
