Every playlist with a massive power ballad needs a beautiful mellow track to follow, and here to fill that role is "Remember" by singer-songwriter Mary Courage. It's written from Donna's point of view - specifically, during the series 4 finale "Journey's End". More specifically, post-meta-crisis. And even more painfully specifically, after Donna forgot the Doctor. That's right - buckle up, because this song is a bumpy ride on the weepiness train. The emotional lyrics float along on Mary's soft, dreamy voice, and this is accompanied by a beautifully melodic piano piece. Together, it perfectly captures the emotion of Donna's fate, which some say is the worst of all the companions. Rose got to grow old with the meta-crisis Doctor; Martha worked with Unit and Torchwood and ended up with Mickey; Amy got to live out her life with Rory - they all had someone, and got to keep their memories of their time with the Doctor. Yet Donna couldn't ever remember him or any of the amazing things she'd seen. "Remember" bundles all of that emotion up and delivers it nicely in a 4 minute tune. It's folksy, it's lyrical, it's melancholic - it's perfect. Mary Courage - Remember - Soundcloud:
