8. Play Nice

One of the reasons David Tennant is perhaps such a popular Doctor with the public is because he€™s so darn charming. You could take him to meet your parents, in his smart suit and his gelled hair. He€™d tell rubbish jokes; he€™d even lick your plates clean to save on the washing up! Sure, there are dark undertones to Tennant€™s portrayal, but for the most part and on the surface he€™s a loveable chap leaping around the universe and having fun. What every Doctor has in common is their force of good. They fight evil, they care about their companions, and that€™s what we like to see. We don€™t like to see Peri being strangled by Six (or maybe some of you do?) and so Capaldi€™s Doctor, even if he is going to have a darker edge, needs to show a kindness and goodwill to Clara, and he should avoid placing either of his hands around her neck.
