Doctor Who: 3 Things Wrong With The 50th Anniversary

1. The War Was Hell... Or Was It?

timeWar In the last Russell T Davies' episode, The End Of Time, the Doctor explained to the Master how, at the end of the Time War, the war had become 'hell'. It seemed that even though destroying Gallifrey and the Timelords distressed him, he knew that it was what he had to do. He even made the decision again in the episode, sending the Timelords and Gallifrey back into the timelocked war under the logic that they had changed and become something other than the great Timelords he remembered. So obviously, it was an informed decision that the Doctor understood to be the right thing to do. Now, however, it's as if all of that has been completely ignored. Instead, we're left with a situation where the Doctor has completely forgotten about what the Timelords had planned, and what he had put a stop to. Some might argue that Moffat was only correcting Davies' mistake of getting rid of Gallifrey and is now opening up a whole host of new storylines, but the war-torn, pained Doctor was one of the main reasons that the reboot of the series was so successful and if Gallifrey was the cost, then surely it should stay that way? Even if just in the name of continuity? So that's what I think. What do you think? Feel free to comment!
