Doctor Who: 5 Books That Should Be Adapted Into Episodes

2. The Doctor Who Storybooks 2007-2010

10th Doctor These were present only during the tenure of David Tennant, being cancelled in 2011. When these books were first introduced in 2006 (in time for Christmas as an annual) I was ten. Of course, a book read as a young child is likely to be forgotten though two stories stuck in my mind: one of a girl who had her body possessed by someone else who made her thin and another involving a computer. When I begun writing this article I knew that those two stories were something I'd have to look at as I simply loved them. I had no idea of the book title or even the story title, just those vague ideas. After half an hour of scouring the Internet I finally found what I was looking for. The stories were "The Body Bank" in the 2008 storybook, and the second was "Corner of the Eye" in the 2007 storybook. They were simply brilliant, the perfect micro Doctor Who stories, focusing on slightly different perspectives than the main shows. These could be adapted into short radio plays or animations similar to The Infinite Quest though they aren't really suitable for full length adaptation with some changes. An interesting fact - well, interesting to me - is that from one of the Storybook tales came the character of Sally Sparrow. These are a perfect quick forage into the world of Doctor Who and if you haven't read any of them before I really encourage it!
