Doctor Who: 5 Reasons The Five-Ish Doctors Reboot Was Great Fun

3. The Memories

peter davison doctor who2 You couldn't help but share in their glee when the Doctors three finally got aboard the TARDIS. Those who grew up with them were possibly transported to the first post-regenerative moment each of them stood at the controls. And who didn't chuckle as Davison admitted he missed the "wobble"of the original set? Yes,it may all have been a bit naff back then, but for me and countless others it was part of the nostalgia. A shared suspension of disbelief, and a wonderful escape at that. Nobody could blame the Three Stooges of Who for wanting to recapture those glories, even if it was for one last time,on screen at least. After all they helped lay the groundwork for New Who. Nice that there were cameos for its ruling family, too. For as well as Peter,a certain son-in-law of his was in on the joke and happy to play a part,as was his literal Doctor's Daughter and wife to a later incarnation. Proof positive that at heart this is a family show. And long may it continue to be so. God bless this TARDIS and all who travel in her.
