1. New Doctor, New Rules, New Director
I think that Wheatleys new eye will be a perfect thing to start series eight of Doctor Who. Here we have a new Doctor whos already said to be dark and gritty, and a director that specializes in thrillers. Nothing is a better match. While being amazing with the cinematography, Wheatley may also be able to use that to give us a new way of getting to know Twelve. A camera can do a lot, if Wheatley does what is expected of him, he may be able to give us something we've never seen before. Instead of the same type of Get to know the Doctor episode we start with, Wheatley could bring the suspense in and give us a way to get to know the Doctor that previous directors havent, maybe by getting straight to the point. Instead of sleeping his way through the opening episode or being tied to a heater, maybe Twelve jumps right in with the drama. Maybe we get whiplash because the suspense starts right away. We have no idea what Wheatley's dreaming up for his Who debut - but we do know one thing. Hes a movie director, hes good at getting the audience to meet and know the character, and either make you fall in love with the character or hate him in a set amount of time. With experience in movies, we may know all of Twelve's life story by the end of these two episode.
