Doctor Who: 50 Unanswered Questions

The Tenth Doctor

7. Who Was The Woman In White?

The Woman In White The End of Time featured a mysterious woman in white. Originally said to be The Doctor's mother, the writers and then showrunner have since left the answer vague. My first impression was that the woman in white was intended to be The Doctor's granddaughter Susan. The references to having been lost, the ability to break the time lock and connect in a seeming psychic way with Wilf (Susan exhibited various mental powers while traveling with her grandfather) meant that to me, it all added up. Were it not for the initial semi-official line about the woman in white actually being his mother, I would be totally convinced of her identity. Others have argued that it was former companion Romana with a new face and body. Unfortunately we may never get an answer to this question.
