Doctor Who: 8 More Predictions For Season 8

6. The Paternoster Gang Will Become More Important

These guys have been getting more high-profile for a year. And good. Like everyone else, I am really enjoying their appearances--although I don't want them to get a spin-off, because I'm afraid of what happened to Jack Harkness happening to them. Vastra, Jenny, and Strax are so "Doctor Who," so "only on this show," so crazy and ridiculous and absolutely perfect. They're the best, and they're completely insane when you think about it too much. So don't think about it too much: just enjoy lines like "I'm a lizard-woman from the dawn of time, and this is my wife." And the idea that Madame Vastra is Sherlock Holmes. Internet rumor has it that they'll be around in the first episode, and I'm looking forward to it. They're fun, they're a believable oddball family unit for the Doctor, and they'll ease the transition. Unevenness is more forgivable when you're having too much fun to care, and when these guys are on screen you're always having fun.
