The awkward humour at this point will be ridiculous. We know Clara was in love with the Eleventh Doctor it was really obvious when she talked to Gallifrey through that crack. We know the Doctor really fancied--or loved--Clara. So now what? Seriously, now what? Sure, the Doctor himself hasn't changed age at all but his face has. Clara and the Doctor won't be able to go to random planets and claim to be a couple without suspicion anymore. There's an age gap here. Mind you, as long as he's wearing clothes her family may be pleased. Plus, there's a new chemistry to work out. Clara loved Eleven, but Eleven will not be Twelve, and she may not feel the same way about Twelve. Frankly, we don't know how twelve will feel about her. Enough about feelings: this will open the door for some hilarious awkward humour. Bring on accidental family comments from alien bystanders! Bring on jokes about age differences! Bring on sideways looks and double entendres! Bring on the funny! And yeah, this will all be heightened when Clara moves into the Tardis. She's the only companion so far not to live at least part-time in the blue box. She's going to run off for real with the Doctor at some point. She'll at least leave for weeks at a time, like the Ponds did. She'll do it because, as previously stated, she's going to be really important to Twelve. He's going to need her. And no one can resist a person who really needs them.
