A touching tribute to Amy and Rory, and a lovely introduction to Kate Stewart. It's just a shame that Chris Chibnall forgot to write any sort of satisfying ending.
69. The Unquiet Dead
Charles Dickens, Nine and Rose go looking for ghosts. Christopher Eccleston outshines just about everyone, as the episode slides in the final third.
68. The Doctor, The Widow And The Wardrobe
Awful supporting performances (Bill Bailey exempt), but a nice moral behind the episode. Not the one about following women home until they marry you, obviously.
67. The Unicorn And The Wasp
A fantastic opportunity for Catherine Tate and David Tennant to demonstrate their comic chemistry, 'The Unicorn and the Wasp' is unfortunately only a formulaic period piece in the end.
66. The Doctor's Daughter
The episode delves deep into the Doctor's repressed emotions over his family, only to kill off his new daughter at the end. She might as well have stayed dead: it's not likely she'll turn up again, is it?
