Doctor Who Flatline: 5 Questions On The Future Of Clara And The Doctor

3. Clara Leaves Danny And Coal Hill School To Join The Doctor Permanently On The TARDIS

The thrill of adventure and all the danger that brings is an addiction, so Mummy On The Orient Express would tell us. This week, Clara seemed to be very much in her element, investigating a mystery, her own companion in tow and generally having fun saving the day. Not only did she lie to Danny when he phoned, she then started ignoring his calls altogether. That's a worrying sign for their relationship. Is she going to choose the Doctor over her boyfriend? We've seen the Doctor increasingly isolated as he travels on the TARDIS alone, with his companion popping in from time to time. We haven't seem companions living on the TARDIS since way back in the days of Amy and Rory. If Clara leaves Danny, she will probably be forced to leave Coal Hill School. Living on the TARDIS might be the opportunity to leave her life on Earth entirely. If series eight has been as much about Clara's life at home as it has about travelling to the stars, then series nine could see the Doctor and Clara leaving modern day Earth entirely.
