Doctor Who: Ranking The Introductions Of Every Doctor
4. Doctor Who: The Movie
Paul McGann burst onto the scene as the Eighth Doctor in the biggest budgeted episode of the series to that point. With the money of FOX behind him and a big audience watching in the UK, big things seemed expected of the only Doctor of the Nineties. Sadly, the Americans, at that time, just didn't get it and it nothing more came of it than this. It was a shame they did not as it was a superb beginning and ending to an on screen era that should have been. The Eighth Doctor slams his way out of the morgue, like Frankenstein's monster, chases the surgeon who caused his operation (and kissing her), is involved in a great motorbike chase and even has time to give cheeky hints of the future to some of the people he meets whilst offering jelly babies. Oh, and h even stopped The Master from destroying the Earth. McGann did all this in his one on-screen story. This episode did not get it right in introducing Doctor Who to a new audience but it did a lot of things well with the audience who wanted it. At least the Eighth Doctor got to shine in the spin-off media. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKRa06hP6vc
