Doctor Who Review: Time Heist - 5 Ways The Check Was Cashed (And Bounced)

9. Credit: Intriguing Characters

Timeheist09 Despite its flaws €œTime Heist€ does present us with two intriguing characters. Psi and Saibra are both people who leave us wanting to know more about them. While integrating technology with the body is often portrayed as a bad thing in Doctor Who it would be interesting to explore the other side of that coin. In this instance the augmented human is a hero not a compromised monster. Psi€™s technical abilities are a great asset to the mission and do not detract from his humanity. Saibra is an equally fascinating presence. Her ability to shape-shift is a powerful tool that leaves her isolated and lonely. It is interesting to note that she appears more confident when in the guise of another than when she is wearing her own face. Both she and Psi are brave and selfless and fairly well thought out. We care about them. Is there a whole community of mutants we have yet to discover in the Doctor Who universe? How tempting to wander down that path and explore the possibilities.
