Doctor Who Season 8: 10 Things We Already Know

10. It Will Air Uninterrupted

To the dismay of many Whovians, the last two seasons of Doctor Who were aired in two parts. Season 6 aired its first seven episodes from April-June 2011 and aired the remaining six episodes from August-October 2011. Season 7 took these breaks to a new level of ridiculousness, airing only five episodes in September 2012 and we only had the 2012 Christmas special to tide us over until airing the remaining eight episodes from March-May 2013. This was followed by a six month wait for "Day of the Doctor," followed by "The Time of the Doctor" a month later. It goes without saying that the patience of Doctor Who fans is growing thinner when it comes to getting episodes. Filming on season 8 began in January, and the season isn€™t expected to premiere until summer or fall 2014. However, Steven Moffat has stated the 13 episodes (which may or may not include the Christmas special) will air uninterrupted, and this would be the standard format for future seasons. Season 8 may still be months away, but at least the fans can rest easy knowing they won€™t have to deal with these annoying breaks anymore.
