Aside from his companions, the most notable recurring characters introduced during Elevens tenure were the Paternoster Gang. Composed of Silurian warrior Vastra, her human wife Jenny and dimwitted Sontaran Strax, these three primarily solved mysteries in Victorian London. However, they were also some of the Doctors most trusted allies, helping him during A Good Man Goes to War, Christmas special The Snowmen, The Crimson Horror and The Name of the Doctor. Strax has also taken on the side role of appearing in multiple Doctor Who videos in the guise of field reports to the Sontaran Empire. What a dutiful potato head. Luckily for us, just because we have a new Doctor doesnt mean well be ditching old friends. The Paternoster will appear in the first episode of season 8 to team up with Clara and Twelve in late-nineteenth century London. The trio will also use sonic devices that were created by the winners of the Blue Peter competition. Jenny gets sonic gauntlets, Vastra gets a sonic hat pin and Strax gets a sonic lorgnette. Thats a lot of sonic apparel going around!
