When Eleven was reunited with Clara in Day of the Doctor, we saw that she had left her job as a nanny and taken a job as a teacher at Coal Hill School. If you know your Doctor Who history, youll remember that this is the school that his granddaughter Susan Foreman attended, which eventually resulted in her teachers Ian Chesterton and Barbara Wright accompanying her and the First Doctor in their adventures on the TARDIS. Well, it turns out that Clara working there isnt just a nod back to the classic series. Its been revealed that Samuel Anderson (Emmerdale, Death in Paradise) will recur in season 8 as Danny Pink, a colleague of Claras at the Coal Hill School. While Pink hasnt been labeled as a new companion, he will share scenes with both Clara and Twelve, so hell definitely be drawn into some sort of extraterrestrial trouble. Well learn more about him in the coming months, but its safe to say that if hes been thrown into the world of Doctor Who, hes in for a wild ride. He'd better get used to running.
