Doctor Who Season 8: 10 Things We Already Know

4. Clara Will Have Trouble Getting Used To Twelve

Similarly, Clara€™s relationship with The Doctor will go through changes as well. Despite seeing all of his past incarnations, most notably meeting Ten and the War Doctor, she€™s never seen him regenerate before. She€™s also the first companion since Rose Tyler to have witnessed a complete regeneration. It€™s one thing knowing that he€™s lived past lives, but it€™s another thing witnessing the change for yourself. Even though she was mostly treated as a plot device during her time with Eleven, the two of them became close, and she even stated on Trenzalore that she €œfancied him.€ With Twelve, she won€™t necessarily have the same feelings. Steven Moffat stated that he€™s looking forward to putting Clara in a situation that she can€™t control. With Eleven, everything seemed to be going well with her and she had everything handled. With Twelve, she€™ll be dealing with a new version of the man she€™s been traveling with; one who€™s €œolder, fiercer and less reliable.€ She€™ll also try to keep him more of a secret now that she€™s working at the school. Clara will still be The Doctor€™s companion, so she obviously still thinks the world of him. However, it makes sense his change would affect her. It happened to Rose and previous companions, but eventually they grew to accept their new Doctors. The same thing will happen to Clara, and she€™ll enjoy traveling around in the TARDIS with Twelve just as much as she did with Eleven.
