6. A Guest Star For The First Episode (Spoilers)

You might be trying to avoid spoilers, but it's still good to know that there's a villain, only mentioned before in passing, who appears to be making an appearance in the series opener. Fans may remember Jack the Ripper from 'A Good Man Goes To War', where Madame Vastra claimed to have caught him, and eaten him ("How did you find him?" "Stringy, but tasty nonetheless!"). If you've seen set photos, you'd have noticed that an actor resembling the Victorian criminal was present during filming; he was wearing a top hat with green dots on it, perhaps for CGI purposes, and some claim that they noticed he was wearing a Cyber ear-piece, though whether or not that's true remains to be confirmed. The Daleks were rumoured to be appearing in the first episode of Series 8, but that doesn't look so likely anymore; the Cybermen might be a better bet, but it's probably more likely to be a new monster, knowing Steven Moffat. Will they exploit Jack the Ripper for in their plans for world-domination though?
