Doctor Who: 10 Actors Who Could Replace Jenna Coleman

1. Benedict Cumberbatch

Another long shot due to the actor's hot reputation and involvement in various other franchises including Sherlock and the rebooted Star Trek movies, but what an amazing get this would be! Cumberbatch already knows Steven Moffat Moffat as the producer of Sherlock, so perhaps that might provide some influence to him appearing on the show? Britishness is not a requirement for appearing on the series but it certainly doesn't hurt, and you can't have a more British name than "Benedict Cumberbatch". It would certainly be engaging to see Sherlock and Doctor Who as pals on a regular basis, anyway, and since the BBC only seems to make three episodes of Sherlock every two years, Benedict's limited engagement as a companion doesn't seem entirely out of the realms of possibility. That would all change if he fairs as well as he's predicated to at next year's Oscars. For the time being at least, fans can live in hope. What do you think of the list? Are there any other actors you think would fit the role as the Doctor's coveted companion? Leave your suggestions in the comments below.

Hi there, What Culture-ers! I'm William Graff, a 40-year old freelance writer from the wilds of Capitol Hill in beautiful Denver, Colorado. I enjoy many things such as beer, Doctor Who, The Simpsons, record collecting, stand-up comedy, long aimless walks, and of course the Broncos, which is required by law if you live here. I appreciate all feedback for my writing, but I prefer cash and/or deleted Smiths singles in lieu of praise. Rock on!
