Doctor Who: 10 Best Dalek Stories
5. Doomsday
Though only a Dalek story for the latter half of this two-part finale, Doomsday closed Series 2, and it did so with an attempted invasion of Earth on a scale reminiscent of that of The Dalek Invasion of Earth. After hiding in the void between worlds, the Cult of Skaro, along with the Genesis Ark, are here to bring devastation to the masses. Featuring the first proper meeting between the Daleks and the Cybermen, these two iconic foes battle it out in a three-way skirmish with Torchwood as player three.
Kick-starting the descent of the species after the events of The Parting of the Ways, the Cult of Skaro were the last four Daleks in existence, trying their hardest to revive the Dalek Empire. After an explosive battle with Cybermen through Canary Wharf, the Daleks unleash their latest attempt and conquering the globe, but are defeating (unsurprisingly) by The Doctor and Rose- who unfortunately finds herself trapped on a parallel world. Whilst the Daleks themselves didn't separate The Doctor and Rose, they definitely had a hand (or plunger) in doing so.
The stakes were high, tears were shed, and the Daleks were slap-bang in the middle, causing havoc as usual.
