Doctor Who: 10 Best Moments Of The Eleventh Doctor

10. Basically... Run

Many fans agree that the 11th Doctor coming into being was possibly the most dangerous scenario a new regeneration had ever been in. His previous incarnation, David Tennant, had a very explosive regeneration (possibly due to holding it in for so long to say goodbye to most of his previous companions?). However, when it comes to regeneration sickness (aside from his very peculiar sense of taste... fish fingers and custard, anyone?), he seemed relatively well off. So much so that he was able to defend the Earth from being completely destroyed in only his first adventure. Not too shabby. A rip into a parallel universe gave Prisoner Zero a chance to escape into our universe, of which the Atraxi (his jailors) were not best pleased about. In order to contain Prisoner Zero, the Atraxi were ready to destroy the planet to ensure he was unable to escape further. However, the Doctor was able to help the Atraxi recapture Prisoner Zero, so crisis averted... right? Well, sort of. In a scenario that only the Doctor could pull off, he calls the Atraxi BACK to Earth, stating they almost incinerated a planet that, according to the laws of the Atraxi, had done nothing wrong, and asked them if the world was protected. An image projection of all the Doctor's worst enemies appeared, followed by a montage of previous Doctors, with Matt Smith walking through after David Tennant's image had appeared. With the line "Hello, I'm the Doctor. Basically...run", he was able to ensure the show was in more than capable hands after the departure of the nation's favourite Doctor just the season before. The Eleventh Doctor had well and truly arrived.
