Doctor Who: 10 Best Moments Of The Eleventh Doctor
9. Traps Are A Bad Idea
In the episode The Time of Angels, Steven Moffat brought many fan's favourite NuWho Monsters, the Weeping Angels, back. However, instead of dealing with one, or a mere handful of Angels, the Doctor, Amy, River Song, aided by some members of a religious military order, had to deal with a planet full of Angels! After losing a few members of the military, the group heads to the crashed Byzantium ship, only to find it's a good 100 meters above them. Seemingly trapped, with Angels coming in from every side, "Angel Bob" makes a statement that they are trapped with no chance of escape. The Doctor tells Angel Bob that he's made a big mistake by putting something in a trap they should never put in one. "There's one thing you never put in a trap, if you're smart, if you value your continued existence, if you have any plans about seeing tomorrow, there is one thing you never, ever put in a trap... Me!" The Doctor is able to bring the ship down to them, which allows the group to further escape the Angels wrath... for a while, at least. The power of that statement, along with the determination in Matt Smith's eyes when he delivered the lines, made many fans believe that putting the Doctor in a no-win scenario was the absolute worst thing to do in the world, and in many respects, it probably is!
