Doctor Who: 10 Big Finish Companions Who Deserve To Be On TV

6. Hex

A male nurse from the near future, Thomas Hector Schofield, known as Hex, joined the Doctor and Ace to defeat a group of Cybermen operating out of his hospital. Not a natural companion, Hex found the dangerous world the Doctor and Ace enjoyed a baptism of fire. The Doctor was also hiding a secret - he knew the lad's mother who died tragically after being turned into a vampire by the Forge. As Hex continued his travels, he constantly tried to help others, always remembering his vocation. This led to him working with Florence Nightingale and always looking for the peaceful solution. He also found himself falling for Ace, though she saw him primarily as a younger brother figure. Hex was more than he knew, however, as his mother's past and the interference of the Doctor's old foe Fenric had huge implications for the young nurse and ended his adventures with the Time Lord. As played by Brookside's Tinhead, Philip Olivier, Hex was one of the Doctor's most realistic friends.
